Walks in beauty

I was delighted to take on this commission. I took inspiration from the history of the property. The main house is the former home of Lady Bryon, so the central bronze diamond shown is part of her family's crest of arms. Additional elements of love hearts are a celebration of her life, and that of her daughter, Ada Lovelace. Ada worked very closely with Charles Babbage, she was the first to recognise the significance of the Analytical Machine which was the precursor for the modern computer. I have celebrated her work within the painting with elements of the engine and binary code information.

The painting is called ‘Walks in Beauty’ which is one of Lord Bryon’s most celebrated poems.

This work was created on an upcycled canvas size 1000mm x 1000mm x 25mm unframed.
